Lifting of M5 works
ROADWORKS on the southbound M5 will be lifted during the Easter holidays to minimise delays for drivers looking to get away on holiday.
Works are being carried out between Junction 20 and 21 of the M5, to the south of Gloucestershire, to replace a section of the steel central reservation.
Work to replace it with a safer concrete alternative will continue into April once the holidays are over.
During the works, three lanes will remain open in each direction with a 50mph speed limit in place.

“Three sets of roadworks on the M5 between Gloucester and Bristol and no one working at any of them when I went that way today. Perhaps if they actually got the job done, the closures could be removed earlier rather than sitting there impeding traffic for weeks and months on end.”
