Lily Allen in midwife Twitter plea
Singer Lily Allen has taken to Twitter to complain that she has yet to see a midwife days after giving birth.
The mum, who lives in Cranham with her husband Sam Cooper, gave birth to daughter Marnie Rose on Tuesday.
But after being discharged from hospital on Wednesday, she became concerned because she had not been visited by a midwife.

“@IsitJimKerr - absurd. Lily Allen pays (more than most, perhaps) in to the system so she's entitled to receive the same level of care and protection as you "mere mortals".”

“..........but surely this is exactly what the idiots that use social media want.
Someone who earns the kind of money like Lily Allen, can afford a private midwife, IF SHE'S THAT BOTHERED!.......and leave the over stretched NHS dealing with us mere mortals with just a tad less than her £6m fortune.
And surely she would have made sure of follow up arrangements before she left hospital.
I disagree that this is lazy reporting. TiG are reporting what some individual has already put on open display.”

“Agreed that's its poor journalism at it's best. One side of the story printed with no fact finding undertaken, just taken straight from Twitter. I'm also aware of someone in the Forest of Dean (Lydney to be precise) who has had a nightmare with midwives for the last month and is due to go in next Friday to be induced with her 1st baby. She's scared and worried given the service she's received so far and having heard some of her stories, I'm not surprised. Hopefully TiG will do some better research into this story next week and get the whole story out there and not just print celebrity a said this celebrity b did this.”

“Well said, ShorterNews, and right on the button. This article seems to serve as further proof that TiG is spiralling ever downwards into a Daily Mail Sidebar of Name and Shame hearsay tittle tattle tabloid. They may as well give up the pretence altogether, and rename themselves "Hi!" or "Gossip", or The Daily Fail B*llsh*t.”

“Lazy journalism. Either leave them alone to their private business, or do some digging and find out if there's a legitimate problem with the midwifery team in Stroud.”
