Lily Allen has been inundated with offers to take her to the Cheltenham Gold Cup following an Internet plea.

The Cotswold singer, who has just given birth to her second child, tweeted on Saturday that she wanted a ticket to the prestigious event.

Plenty of replies flooded in, inviting the star from Cranham along, as well as offering to be her personal tipster for the day.

And it seems to have paid off for Lily as Cheltenham Racecourse got in contact with her directly to offer her a ticket.

“With celebrity comes perks, it seems. Wonder what she'll "ask" to be invited to next?

Or maybe because the ticket has come directly from the racecourse itself, it included an invoice. They "offered" her a ticket, at it's face value, I hope.

If she has paid for the ticket, then fair enough. If however she's got a freebie as a result of her cheeky request (thinly-veiled begging), then she's just gone down in my estimation.”

I'm surprised she can tear herself away from shopping in London.”

“What about the rest of us who can't afford a ticket and would love to go?

Lily I hope you are as enthusiastic about showing up at Cranham's annual village fair, you didn't attend last year, even though it was held less than 1/4mile from your house.”

“Could she not buy her own ticket? She's not short of a bob or two is she?”
