Lindsay Sandiford expected to appeal against death sentence
LAWYERS of a Cheltenham grandmother handed the death penalty for smuggling cocaine into Bali say they are likely to appeal against her sentence.
Lindsay Sandiford, who once lived in Hester's Way and Warden Hill, was given the sentence this week after police on the island arrested her in May last year with nearly five kilos of cocaine in her luggage.
Her counsel Esra Karokaro said: "We object to the sentence. We will discuss it first with her, most likely we will appeal."
