Localising road projects plan
HIGHWAYS across the borough could be in line for a makeover if a council scheme gets the green light.
Gloucestershire County Council will decide next Wednesday whether or not to approve a proposal to give every councillor £10,000 each to spend on highways projects in their area.
The Highways Local initiative, which would be a £1.16m two-year pilot scheme, would see councillors talking to residents and highways managers to decide which roads and pavements need improving in their area.
