Lorry driver stuck in cab sparks medical emergency
A lorry driver was stuck in his cab after he was taken ill with a life-threatening condition.
Cirencester firefighters were called out by the Great Western Ambulance Service to help remove the man from his vehicle at 12.46am today, at the Transport Yard, Driffield Road.
Assessing the situation, the five-man crew commander Dave Coulling called for more resources.
Working with the Special Incident Support Unit, a platform was raised to the cab and specialist stretchers used to support the patient as quickly as possible before he was taken to hospital.
