Lucky escape in crash where car flips over in St Stephen's Road
ANYBODY would be lucky to walk away from a crash like this.
But incredibly, the woman behind the wheel of this Citreon C3 was taken to hospital with only minor injuries.

“The C3s are like bubble cars and inherently not that stable, so it's not as hard as you think. I've driven a C3 previously for a number of years (A relatives) and they aren't stable, they don't stick to the road like low slung cars such as a focus do. Cornering a C3 at over 15MPH would be madness as its suspension literally makes the subframe keel to one side.”

“The site is unpopular because the standard of 'journalism' is woeful.
If i did my job as badly as this i wouldnt have a job!!!!
A six year old could do a better job than some of the 'writers' here. Its awful. Why do i read it?
Because the sloppy writing cheers me up whilst i have a coffee & a Marlboro!
As for the woman who did this. How on earth did she manage it? Either she hit the Mini at some speed or somehow she rolled it in the aftermath of the collision.
Either way its an impressive thing to do at such a spot. Hats off to her.
Also happy to read that she escaped relatively uninjured. Could have been worse - i have seen people badly injured, or worse, in less serious looking accidents than this.”

“It's not all bad news.
I think this proves that with a modern car being driven at legal speeds and belted up in town, even a landing on the roof no longer means serious injury to the occupants.
Look at the car,it's main structure is barely damaged.”

“There are cars parked on both sides of the road but it's possible for two cars to pass assuming they are both competent drivers. No idea what happened here but I had to make a detour when I came across this accident on Thursday afternoon. Glad the lady is ok.
Why does it take until Saturday to be reported in the Echo? Seems to be a growing trend when we see local stories of National interest being reported in the Daily's but not in the Echo and TiG until a day later. Even then it takes an absolute age for the page to load. No wonder this site is increasingly unpopular.”
