LUCKY families have so far scooped £5,000 from the Gloucestershire Lottery.

The lottery, which was launched in April, is dividing its profits between The James Hopkins Trust and Have a Heart appeal.

The winners last month were Robert Allen, of Barnwood, Lynne Phillips, of Abbeymead, Donna Fallon, of Gloucester and Carolyn Parker, of Evesham,

They each won a £500 prize. Lottery manager Richard Pike said the primary goal of the Gloucestershire Lottery was to raise money for the children's charities.

The James Hopkins Trust, which is based in Gloucester, provides nursing respite care for severely disabled, life-limited and life-threatened children aged under six.

It receives 80 per cent of the profits from the lottery.

Have a Heart also focuses on making a difference to the lives of local children and specialises in funding grass roots projects in the county.

Lottery tickets cost £1 each. To take part, complete and cut out the form and send it to: The Gloucestershire Lottery, Kite's Corner, North Upton Lane, Gloucester, GL4 3TR.
