More Lydney road closures for vital level crossing work
Work to install new rails at level crossings in Station Road and Harbour Road in Lydney will take place on two consecutive weekends.
It is part of a scheme that has also led to the A48 bypass being shut while work on the level crossing there is carried out too.
Station Road and Harbour Road will be closed from 10pm on Saturday to 10am on Sunday, and 10pm on January 19 to 10am on January 20.
This is instead of work being carried out from 7pm to 7am on these dates, as previously advertised. The vital maintenance work, which will be managed by Atkins Rail, is to make significant improvements to the safety of the level crossings for all road users, a county council spokesman said.

“Vital work? Repairing the old men's railway track so that they can play with their trains? So we all suffer appalling traffice in Lydney so they can play with their cast off rubbish.”
