MP handed job of turning round electoral slide

Has my vote changed anything? Perhaps from an unlimited charge on students which a Labour appointed review suggested to a charge which claims nothing up front (unlike the Labour £3000 up front charge) to a graduate tax when they earn enough to pay for it. Why should a Tory MP worry about a university charge that is less than one term at Eton?”

Yes my vote has changed. I could and did agree with the last Conservative MP for Cheltenham who was liberal by any Tory Standards. When he resigned and the Tories imported a Thatcherite lawyer from Birmingham I ignored his colour and race, unlike the local party voters and switched to LibDem because of what he said on a BBC question time. As the Tory candidate has now been condemned for his expenses after he became a Lord I think my judgement has been vindicated.”

“Petersbear, what does your vote mean? Has it changed anything?”

If you don't vote why should the politicians care? As long as they are in parliament why should they worry about those who do not vote to get them out. I used to live in a constituency in the Pennines where the sheep had blue markings. My MP and his wife milked the expenses system but it was impossible to get them out because all the farmers and small business people always assumed they would eventually be worth millions.”

“One thing the Liberals have insisted on and my local Tory MP in Gloucester said it could not be afforded?!
Was raising the tax thresholds for lower earners.
I have no political allegiance but I thought that was the best policy since the minimum wage.”

“It is His Lordship's opinion that the liberals are worst than the socialists. They try to attract society's whiners and malcontents, do they not ?
Well, hard luck. Your brief foray into government will end and your principled supporters will most likely stay at home.
Fellows, if you have the chance, vote UKIP for a strong Britain...”

“Petersbear, not voting may be a lottery but i will be hoping that when the participation figures are made known then politicians do something to reverse the apathy that people are increasingly feeling towards a system that keeps letting them down...”

“So what happens here, vote Conservative and get an even more Tory government.
Don't vote and it's a lottery who wins.
Vote green having voted LD get a Tory.
Vote Ukip and reduce the Tory vote and get a LibDem.
It's a 2 horse race, so what does the least damage?
In the north of England where LibDems are second or ahead of Labour it's going to be a blood bath but in the South I suspect a low turnout will result in a result which should be none of the above but will be how the ... did that happen.”
