MP puts focus on Argentina in Commons
CHELTENHAM's MP has raised the importance of the Falkland Islands and relations with Argentina in a Parliamentary debate.
Cheltenham's Martin Horwood posed questions on the matter in the House of Commons.
They spoke out as the 30th anniversary of the end of the conflict passed and islanders prepared to vote in a referendum on their future.
Mr Horwood said: "We all love referendums and rightly remain absolutely committed to the principle of self- determination in the case of the Falklands.

"However, is it nevertheless part of the Government's strategy, once these important and emotionally-charged anniversaries are over, to rebuild relations with what should be a friendly democracy in Argentina?"
In answer to the question, Minister David Liddington said the Government had never sought anything other than a friendly and constructive relationship with Argentina.
