RICHARD Graham has been personally appointed as Trade Envoy to Indonesia by Prime Minister David Cameron.

The Gloucester Conservative MP is the only member of the House of Commons to have lived and worked in Indonesia and to speak Bahasa Indonesia.

He already chairs the All Party Parliamentary Group for Indonesia and was closely involved in the recent state visit of the President of Indonesia.

Mr Graham said: "I'm delighted to help the Government in our mission to re-balance the economy through this role of encouraging exports to Indonesia. This also plays to our city and county's manufacturing strengths.

“Hope the citizens of Indonesia feel the benefits of Richard's efforts. I'm still waiting for a reply to an email I sent him in July about my concerns for the NHS in Gloucester. I guess he's been busy working abroad.”
