​A Lydney man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 30-year-old last November.

Christopher Toomey, of Purlieu, is alleged to have murdered Jonathan Green, also from Lydney, on November 8, 2009.

Appearing at Bristol Crown Court via video link, the 24-year-old spoke only to confirm his name.

He did not enter a plea.

Toomey will remain in custody until his next appearance at Bristol Crown Court on May 7.
