A man injured in an accident near Tewkesbury has died in hospital.

Police say the 22-year-old, from Bishop's Cleeve, died in Bristol's Frenchay Hospital yesterday.

He had been transferred there after initially having been taken to Cheltenham General Hospital following Sunday night's crash.

According to police, the man's Ford Fiesta was the only vehicle involved.

It ended up in a field, off the A435 near Teddington Hands.

“I don't think i have ever come across a single person that could say a bad thing about you. You were an absolute sound lad. Had time for everybody and was friends with a lot of people. You were always there when people needed to talk about problems, or just to moan. I know i did a few times mate. This is why you touched a lot of people. You never took sides. You were a listener. You were there whenever we were feeling down and you would leave us smiling again. Just like you always were. If we didn't see you driving around town in your little Fiesta, we would always see you out on the town, doing what you done best. Having a good time. You will be sorely missed mate. It has come as a complete shock to everyone. Why do all the good ones have to go so early. I've nicked one of your quotes off of Facebook..."Tomorrow Isn't Promised, So Make The Most Of Today .."
And you made the most of everyday...
Take it easy up there mate and keep on smiling. Hope to see you again one day. My next drink is for you buddy...
    RIP. Love Jay xxx”
