Man's final chance to stay out of jail

ASPIRING entrepreneur Michael Trinder has been given one last chance to stay out of prison.

The 24-year-old, of Severn Road, Dursley, admitted causing grievous bodily harm after he knocked Wayne Todd to the floor in the Yew Tree pub and broke his nose.

But Trinder returned to Gloucester Crown Court on Tuesday after failing to comply with his 42-week suspended sentence.

He had also been ordered to do 120 hours of unpaid work and was given a four month curfew after the attack, which started after Trinder kissed a woman in the pub before attacking her boyfriend.

Prosecutor Tim Hills said Trinder had failed to turn up to do his unpaid work twice.

In mitigation, Steve Young, said he had been getting on with his education and training and wanted to set up his own business.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC said to Trinder: "The law requires me you to send you to prison unless it is unjust to do so. It won't be unjust next time and it is as simple as that."

Mr Tabor ordered Trinder to do an extra 10 hours of unpaid work.
