MILLIONAIRE husband Carol Unwin is still desperately hoping his wife is alive after she went missing in a new yacht days after they bought it together.

Ona Mary Unwin, who was known as Mary, went missing hours after preparing to set sail solo on the 31ft yacht Seagar.

The 65-year-old woman set off in the boat and Mr Unwin drove to their Devon home to wait for her. The former Tewkesbury resident, who used to live at nine-bedroom Longdon Hall, did not arrive. Mr Unwin said: "I still have hope. Nothing is certain until she is found – be that dead or alive."

The 30-hour full-scale air and sea hunt for Mrs Unwin was stopped after the coastguard confirmed bits of wood, believed to be from her £32,000 yacht, had been found.
