Man threatened with blade during Stroud attempted robbery
A 21-YEAR-OLD was threatened with a hand saw blade and beaten up, during an "unprovoked and vicious" attempted robbery in Stroud.
The young man from the town went to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with facial injuries after being punched and kicked on Friday night.
The attack took place in the subway at Dr Newton's Way in Wallbridge at around 7.30pm.
Gloucestershire Police Inspector Tony Fisk said the man was threatened with the blade and assaulted, but his injuries were not life threatening.

He said: "It appears that two males tried to steal a mobile phone, but were unsuccessful.
"However, it was an unprovoked and vicious attack."
Mr Fisk said investigations were continuing, but no one had been arrested. He called on anyone with information to contact police.
The two men are described as white teenagers.
One was 6ft tall, medium build with acne on his face and black wavy short hair. He was wearing a black McKenzie jacket with white Nike Air Max trainers.
The second male was over 6ft, of a stocker build, with short dark hair and was wearing a black McKenzie hoodie.
