Man touched teen on bus
A TEENAGE girl was touched by a man on a bus in Gloucester.
The 13-year-old boarded the number 10 Tuffley to Cheltenham bus in Clarence Street on Wednesday at 7.30am and sat on the top floor.
While seated she felt someone grab her pony tail and brush their hands along the length of her hair.
She then got off the bus on Shurdington Road at 8.15am but the man followed her for some time before turning back. He is described as being of mixed race and 5ft 6ins tall.

“"What about violent crime and sexual attacks, it's 'going through the roof' at the moment, what are you doing about that? Also, look at TiG's headline for this assault: Gloucester robber Roger Safari tried to throw drugs and phones wrapped in a sock into HMP Huntercombe
"http://tinyurl.com/cd5446r
That's Gloucester robber from the CONGO - who turns out to be an asylum seeker - who should also be deported!
"A ROBBER who punched his victim unconscious later tried to smuggle drugs and phones into a prison.
Roger Safari was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison"
What the hell is going on?"

Please re-read my post, I did not say anything of the kind, it's your use of Savile and the last paragraph in your first post, which IMPLY'S that's what you said, do you get it?
"paedeophiles have been around for ever and that the difference between now and thirty years ago is that complaints are being taken more seriously and police attitudes to these crimes have change."
Well that's 'your opinion' but what would have happend to a paedophile, let's say, sixty years ago Glosstephen, any guesses?”

“@Glosstephen, yes in an 'ideal' world, a 13 yr old should be able to get on the bus alone. Also in an ideal world, I, who am in my 30's should walk to work in the morning worry free without having to text my husband soon as I reach just to let him know that I have. But, this isn't an ideal world, and 13 year olds shouldn't be out alone, and I still do text every morning.”

“@Sticks-Stones - I didn't write that it was worse in the past than it is now. I simply said that paedeophiles have been around for ever and that the difference between now and thirty years ago is that complaints are being taken more seriously and police attitudes to these crimes have change.
The irony is that even as many crime rates have come down people have become more scared of crime than in the past.
And aishaa - 13 year olds should feel safe to travel on a bus by themselves and many do every day without incident.”

“I hate to be the one to ask, but why was a 13 year old sitting on a bus alone in the first place? I'm sorry but you can't put kids in these situations and then be shocked that this happened. We need to wake up and realize its not a safe world, and shouldn't do such things that just invite trouble.”

You use the Savile case to suggest it was 'worse back then, than it is now' - what nonsense, that shows nothing of the kind - you did not even comment on this story, you went 'straight for me' that speaks volumes about your 'priorities'.
"murder is a good example - have shown a steady downward trend over the past couple of hundred years" - Is that all, a couple of hundred years - get a grip!
We are now having to build 'super jails' to house ALL of the filth and you think it was far worse back in the 50s because we have "specialist women officers" now - that is up to you if you believe that tosh.”

“@sticks_stones
What evidence do you have that "we are awash with disgusting perverts and its getting worse by the day''?
The Savile case, the children's home in the Channel Islands and multiple accounts of abuse taking place in the 50s, 60's, 70s where victims were not taken seriously by the police show that there have been paedeophiles around for a long time.
The big difference is that police are finally starting to change their attitudes to sexual assaults - having specialist women officers interviewing victims for example. There is less tolerance of the 'she was asking for it wearing such provocative clothes' type attitude.
Many serious crimes - murder is a good example - have shown a steady downward trend over the past couple of hundred years but you would find that difficult to believe given people's perceptions that 'things aint wot they used to be'.”
