Based on the Travel Channel show 'Man vs Food', the otherwise healthy eating rugby players and club members were challenged to take on either a 4.5lb burger, fries and pint meal or the nine storm wings challenge, with some of the hottest sauce around.

The burgers consisted of four 18oz freshly made beef patties between a super-size bun and slices of cheese and pickles. This had to be consumed within an hour along with a large portion of chips and a pint of their choice.

None of the players managed to complete the feat.

Next up was the chicken challenge. Nine battered hot wings were freshly cooked on site and then dipped in a sauce made from Scotch Bonnet, and brutal ghost and naga chillies.

Scott 'Topper' Wilkes was the clear winner, finishing his plate off in just 10 minutes.

A spokesman for the club said: "A great night all around with all money going towards a new patio area for the club."
