Marathon of music in the park

FREE music and performance drew an audience of around 300 during a four-hour Bandstand Marathon in Stratford Park.

The community entertainment on Sunday afternoon was really successful, its co-ordinator Benita Johnson said.

"It was sunny, just fantastic. People took along picnics and their chairs and just came and enjoyed it," said singer songwriter Benita, who also played for the crowd herself.

Acts including StroudSong , The Tongs and The Bones, the OPENhouse hip hop group and band Shadowlight were all well received.
