'Marine graves' talk
HISTORY buffs can hear about the final resting place of more than 81 vessels at the latest Gloucester City museum talk next month.
The marine graveyard at Purton lies on a narrow bank between the Gloucester to Sharpness canal.
A small fleet of timber ships were intentionally beached in the winter of 1909, to help strengthen the eroding canal bank.
The talk is on Wednesday, February 6 between 1.10pm and 1.50pm.
