The housing market in Gloucestershire is expected to see a stronger end to the year thanks to greater mortgage availability on the back of recent government initiatives.

A survey of estate agents this week has revealed expectations for future sales reached their highest level in September for more than two years.

A net balance of 26 per cent more respondents predicted sales to grow in the last quarter of the year, the RICS UK housing market survey shows.

And Kelvin Tutill, managing director at David Wilson Homes South West, which has sites across the county, said there was a bit more competition in the mortgage market now.
