Police remained in the area this morning to conduct forensic and other inquiries.

Local Sergeant Lucie Koeltgen said: "We know this caused significant disruption to the community and many will have woken up this morning wondering what had happened.

"I'd like to reassure them that we have many active inquiries in hand and that we do not believe the address involved was targeted randomly by the offenders. We are talking to the occupants to find out what could have prompted this.

"The area is generally a very safe one but our officers will be visiting residents to reassure them and answer any concerns they have.”

Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area last night or who has any information that could help police should call 101, quoting incident 35 of June 28.
