Master chefs impress Beeb cook
A PAIR of young cooks were heading for a culinary final after impressing celebrity chef James Martin.
Marling School pupils Matt Elder and Henry Finchett are finalists in the national Red Tractor beef and lamb Make it with Mince Challenge 2012. The pair were selected by TV chef Martin to take part in regional heats yesterday in Birmingham.

Martin and fellow judges were blown away by the pupils' creative dishes – Henry's stuffed butternut squash and Matt's lamb leek and mint pie.
Martin, who hosts Saturday Kitchen on BBC Two, said: "There has been a huge variety in the recipes submitted, from modern versions of traditional dishes to innovative, new recipes."
Sunday and Monday evenings £12.00 per head for an all inclusive meal with Indian and Thai cuisine (normal price £14.50).
