Masterchef's Gregg Wallace on the altercation with Paul Bates, of Gloucestershire
Masterchef's Gregg Wallace has spoken about the moment he and Cotswold Style publisher Paul Bates had a brawl in a hotel.
The altercation between the pair happened last weekend at the Wood Norton Hotel in Evesham.
Mr Wallace later claimed that Mr Bates had pinched his girlfriend Anne-Marie Sterpini's bottom.
But Mr Bates, who lives in Over in Gloucestershire, said the incident had come out of the blue.

”I had my daughter with me for the evening. We had dinner and Gregg was the guest of honour. We adjourned to the bar and I was chatting with his girlfriend,” he said.
“Out of the blue, he just turned on me and pushed me across the room and I fell on a table.
“But later, Gregg gave me an apology and we had a couple of whiskies together. It was something and nothing.”
Today, speaking to the Daily Mail through his spokeswoman, Mr wallace said: "Anne-Marie was uncomfortable when a man made some inappropriate comments and touched her. She is a quiet and unassumming woman and she was close to tears. Her expression was one of bewilderment at how to deal with the situation.
"She really is a lovely lady and I took exception to her being made to feel as she did. I'm not condoning violence at all, my first reaction was to defend her."
