POP group McFly will excite fans when they visit Cheltenham to sign their new single.

The four-piece will be at record store Rise in the Beechwood Shopping Centre on March 8, from 5pm. They will meet fans and sign copies of their latest single, That's The Truth.

McFly are no strangers to the town, visiting last November to sign copies of Shine a Light.

Store manager Ben Hughes said: "Last year's signing was great. It was the first time we had had a pop act in the store and their fans were unbelievable. I spoke to a few who were disappointed they didn't get to meet Dougie and Harry last time, so this is their chance."

Entry will be by wristband only, which will be given to fans who pre-order the single in the store.

“It is only Dougie & Harry from McFly who will be here for the signing on 8 March 2010, not the whole band. I'm sorry for any confusion but we have never stated that it was all four members attending. For more info see http://www.rise-music.co.uk/events.php?event=15”

“I think you need to realise that McFly have a lot of fans in Cheltenham. The reason why they have returned to Rise in Beechwood and when they came in November is that they want to help support independent record shops in the UK. Stores like Rise and Rapture. They do go to HMV stores but that is built into the promotion tour for places without a variation of Rise and Rapture.

The boys are great at meeting their fans and yes I am one of them. They aren't stooping for anything. They are out there meeting fans and making people happy. It is hard for some people to go to other places just to meet them. For them to come to Cheltenham twice in six months is such a honour for their fans.

So if you think they are stooping, well, you keep your opinion to yourself please. The fans will enjoy themselves a whole lot more without you.”

“Looks like their name should change to McDie if they have to stoop to Beachwood.......”
