McNab rose to head home John Vance's corner into the net past the despairing dive of Foresters keeper Alex Harris.

It was one of the few clear-cut chances created in a gritty contest on a heavy pitch as the Somerset Robins' improvement continued.

The first half saw precious little in the way of goalmouth action as Lewis Sommers (inset) had a smart shot saved by Luke Purnell. while the Robins had claims for a penalty turned down.

And as the game continued to disappoint in the second half, the decisive moment came in the 64th minute when McNab rose to head home.

The defeat sees the Foresters lose ground on the play-off places in Evo-Stik League Southern, Division One South and West.

The Foresters welcome Didcot Town to the Causeway next weekend, looking to cut the three point gap between themselves and county rivals Cirencester Town, who occupy the final play-off place.
