Medals galore for Road Runners on home turf
BOURTON Juniors were out in force for the annual one-mile race in their village.
The race incorporated the Gloucestershire Championships and in the In the girls' race Niamh Powell had a fantastic run.
She won the Under-13 race in style also picking up the county gold medal – she was also first Under-20 in five minutes and 53 seconds.
Gaby Jones was rewarded with a second in 6.40 and the county silver medal.

The club finished the clean sweep with a well deserved third place for Issy Hartley in 7.03 and the county bronze medal.
Emily Williams is returning to form after injury and had a solid run in 8.04.
In the Under-11 girls race, Bethan Powell had to work hard to win the race in 6.26 and take the county gold medal.
She was pushed hard by Helena West who finished second in 6.39 to win the county silver medal.
Libby Herbert is improving race-by-race to finish in 7.05.
She was closely followed by Laura Farley in 7.07.
Annabella Tallis had a strong run to finish in 7.29 and once again Annabella Williams showed what potential she has to finish in 7.37.
Just behind was Jessica Hale in 7.41.
Then came some potential stars of the future in very good runs.
Eva Darby finished in 8.50, Chloe Angus in 9.09 and Celia Darwent pacing her mum in 9.20.
Issy Kiey Thomas once again had bad luck, last year she was clipped by a car's wing mirror and this year got caught up in a pile-up on the start line but she showed real character and finished the race well.
In the boys' race, Alfie Howells-Smith had a really good battle with Tom Pinkham.
They pushed each other to very good times and positions in the very competitive Under-15 race.
Howells-Smith has so much natural ability and had the slight edge on Pinkham who has had injury problems.
In a fantastic finish, Howells-Smith piped Pinkham on the line to take second in 5.33 and Pinkham third in 5.34. They both also won the silver and bronze county medals.
It was good to see Alex Darwent on good form again with a good run in 7.08.
In the Under-13s race, Marcus Kiey Thomas battled round well and was rewarded by taking the top spot in 7.47 and the county gold medal.
In the under-11 boys race, Dylan Williams was caught in the pile-up on the start line but picked himself up and won the race well in six minutes and the county gold medal.
Joshua Angus' great form continues and his race experience grows to take second spot in 6.20 and the county silver medal.
To finish the clean sweep, the consistent Charlie Davidson took third in 6.44 and the county bronze medal.
Not far behind, Beau Griffin was have a storming run in 6.57, closely followed by Malachy Jones in a very competitive Under-11s race in 7.04.
Daniel Bufton is training harder again and it showed in a very committed performance in 7.06.
Jake Darby paced himself well in a good 7.19.
Christopher Hunt has improved tremendously with a fantastic 7.29 more than three minutes faster than last year.
He was pushed by the ever-improving Alfie Griffin in 7.33.
Jacob Herbert also paced himself well with a great sprint finish in 7.39.
Toby Sellek is learning race by race how to pace himself he ran well in 7.48 they were all well backed up by George Farley in 9.08.
