Meet the faces behind the tweets at Cheltenham social media event
Cheltenham social media group #wearesocialclub is holding a ‘Summer Special’ dinner on Thursday 26th July to bring together people who usually meet online via their laptops and mobile phones.
The event at Cheltenham’s Pepper Crescent includes a welcome cocktail, three course meal served bowl food style and live music from Canadian singer-songwriter David Ward as part of his UK tour.
It’s an opportunity for social media users to meet the people behind the hashtags and Facebook pages and interact in a more traditional way.
The dinner is an extension of #wearesocialclub’s social evenings on the last Thursday of every month, which have proved extremely popular and regularly attract attendances of 40+ people.
Sunday and Monday evenings £12.00 per head for an all inclusive meal with Indian and Thai cuisine (normal price £14.50).
Bring this voucher to the restaurant complete with your name and email address on it.

“Most social media users are very outgoing and appreciate an opportunity to get together with like-minded people, particularly when there’s good food, drink and music included,” said Jonathan Pollinger of social media consultancy Intranet Future, who is organising the event.
“This isn’t a networking evening but simply a chance to meet socially, chat and enjoy the food and the music. We all spend a lot of time in the virtual world on Twitter, Google+ and Facebook, and it’s important to take time away from our screens to meet people face to face.
“Social media is a wonderful way to share information quickly but it can’t replace the enjoyment we get from live music and a good meal with friends.”
The dinner takes place at Pepper Crescent, 12 Royal Crescent, Cheltenham on Thursday 26th July and runs from 7pm to 11pm. Tickets cost £20 and must be purchased in advance.
