Member quits to fight another day
A COUNCILLOR who resigned from Nailsworth Council amid a row over a community centre hopes to stand for election in a bid to force more consultation on the scheme.
The council is pressing ahead with the £600,000 hall in Forest Green but Dorcas Binns believes people have not had enough say.

Yesterday, her resignation was confirmed to Stroud District Council's elections department. If 10 people call for an poll within 14 days, the vote will take place on the same day as the General Election.
The seats of councillors John Bratby and Alan Wheeler, who stood down for similar reasons, will be contested on March 25.
Mrs Binns, pictured, said: "If people come out for me, it will be their way of saying they want consultation."
There is some unease at spending £300,000 of former mayor Frank 'Bunny' Arkell's £400,000 bequest on the £600,000 scheme but councillor and community centre working party member John Nicholson said that need not be the case.
He said: "The inescapable fact is that we consulted on this design and build more than six years ago. Then there were costs of £500,000 and most responses went for it."
