Mervyn is remembered
MOURNERS will gather tomorrow for the funeral of a Cheltenham man who worked tirelessly with homeless people.
Ian Vaughan, known to many as Mervyn, was made an MBE for his selfless efforts and lifetime of work with the homeless 10 years ago.
The 82-year-old, who was chairman of the Gloucestershire Emergency Accommodation Resource (Gear) from 1996 to 2001, died on February 23.
His son Declan said his dad was a man of great compassion. "He lived his life in service of others and throughout his life his focus was working for the community," he said
