Things were much more decisive at home however. Joan Surman, Maryann Pye, Myra Savage and Margaret Stalley, playing the legendary Doris Woodley, were also 4-3 up at five ends, 9-7 at the half and 14-15 after 15 ends.

By the 18th end they led 21-10 and yet another seven shots in the last three ends to win 28-10.

The Vivienne is a four rink competitons played on a two rinks at home and two away basis and in this tournament, Mid Glos' opponents were Nailsea.

At home Carol Prouse, Georgi Williams, Joice Harrington and Janet White won 19-14 and Betty Boyd, Joan Sterry, Elaine Hopkin and Joy Smith had a convincing 29-18 win.

Although Sandra Bailey, Mary Clark, Ann Beaven and Pat Stiley lost 18-11, Jo Lee, Joyce Nash, Sue Dyer and Wendy Manns won 21-18.
