Exeter-based property services group Midas has said its Devon and Cornwall construction business won more than £10 million of new contracts in December and January.

Project wins include an adventure training centre on the quayside at Haven Banks in Exeter, improvements to Torbay Hospital's Turner Ward, a motor transport unit at the Commando Training Unit Royal Marines, Lympstone, and its appointment to the Cornwall Council Contractors' Framework.

During the period, Midas Construction also completed five significant Devon and Cornwall projects valued at a total of £4 million.

They included the new police station in Tavistock, the Newquay Skills Centre, the refurbished Davy Laboratory at Plymouth University, a Costa Coffee Pod on Marsh Barton Retail Park in Exeter and the Critical Care Unit at Treliske Hospital.

Midas Construction Director, Mike O'Neill said: "We are very pleased with these new instructions which come on the back of an £8 million contract to build student accommodation at the Tremough Campus, Penryn."

In the past six months Midas has also completed a wide range of projects, including the Childen's Hospice South West in St Austelland a new catering facility at RNAS Culdrose.
