Ministry of Defence sends Euros to troops in Cyprus
A plane has taken off for Cyprus with one million Euros on board for British forces on the island, according to national reports.
The Ministry of Defence has sent cash out to Cyprus with loans for Service personnel who find themselves unable to access cash in Cyprus.
Banks there have shut amid EU bailout plans which could see money being taken from everyone's bank accounts to help the stricken country.
There are around 3,000 British Armed Forces personnel in Cyprus, where the UK has a base.
