No Monopoly on goals for Gloucester City striker Will Morford
GLOUCESTER City striker Will Morford has revealed the secret of how he kept his competitive edge through the recent cold snap – beating his housemate at Monopoly.
Morford, who notched his 15th goal of a productive season against Vauxhall Motors on Saturday, said he had given football a wide berth during the cold snap, preferring more classic entertainment.

He currently leads the Monopoly stakes against housemate and one-time City striker Mike Symons where, like his football, he is enjoying his current rich vein of form.
"When I'm away from football I don't really watch it that much," he explained. " I've been playing Monopoly against Symo and I'm currently winning by five games to three."
While his one-time strike partner is receiving the full force of Morford's money-grabbing ways around the streets of London, his current strike partner Darren Edwards has received glowing praise.
The pair have now shared nearly 30 goals this term and Morford feels his current partnership as well as a great appreciation of his own game has borne fruit.
Morford, who works as a coach in the thriving Cirencester Academy set-up, said coaching had given him a new outlook on his own game.
He said: "Darren set up my goal on Saturday, flicking the ball through to me. He's been a massive influence on the way I've been playing football this season.
"I also think we are playing as a team a lot more now."
"I'm getting older and now I'm coaching, I see what I want my forwards to do and think about how I can do it in my own game," he said.
"I've had a consistent run this year, last year I was playing on the left wing but I've consistently played up front this year and everyone knows my game."
With a third of the season to go, and City well-placed for their minimum of a top-ten finish, Morford was pleased to see the Tigers return to winning form after their mini-break.
Morford's latest strike put him ahead of strike partner Edwards and level with Symons – now playing for Worcester City – in the Blue Square Bet North scoring charts.
And despite his success on the field of play and with the board games, Morford is not expecting to have the monopoly on the top scorer either with City or in his household.
"Darren's got lots more goals in him this season," he said.
"It was good to score against Vauxhall but it really doesn't matter who scores as long as we are winning and I'm playing."
