Motorist drives off after hitting dog between Gloucester and Stroud
A motorist drove on after their vehicle collided with a dog at Edge on Tuesday morning.
Police were told by a passer-by that the golden Labrador had been killed in the collision on the A4173 at around 7.30am.
Officers found the dog in the middle of the road and initially believed the pet was dead.
However later reports from police at the scene, confirmed by police today, revealed officers discovered the dog was injured but alive and taken to a vet for treatment.

“Hole of a creature related to a donkey!
It wasn't their fault if the dog ran into the road but to leave it there is selfish and cruel beyond belief. Hope they can be prosecuted for this. How is the dog? have the owners been found?”
