Mourners pay tribute to Joe, 24, at funeral
MOURNERS gathered to celebrate the life of a "fun-loving" Cheltenham man at an emotional funeral service yesterday.
St Mary's Church, in Charlton Kings, was packed to the rafters as people gathered to pay their respects to Joe Silvey, who was found dead on the railway tracks near Dorchester on August 19. The 24-year-old from Charlton Kings had been visiting friends in the area when he died.

People closest to him have described him as an ebullient character, who enjoyed being the life and soul of the party. At yesterday's service fond tributes were read out to the former Balcarras pupil – with people recalling moments from Joe's life. Dozens of messages have also been posted up on Facebook.
British Transport Police have said they believed Joe was electrocuted while trying to cross the railway tracks, although at this stage the reasons for his death are unexplained. An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned. Donations from the funeral went to the Breakthrough breast cancer charity – a cause close to Joe's heart.
