A CIRENCESTER man is believed to have been murdered in Swindon.

Terrance Curtis, 50, was found unconscious in his flat, which he moved into two weeks ago, just before 11pm on Tuesday.

Mr Curtis, who had lived in the Beeches area of Cirencester, had suffered head injuries and died later that night at Western Hospital.

Police were alerted to the incident, at Westcott Place, Kingshill, by the ambulance service.

Two Swindon men, aged 25 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

They had their detention time in custody extended by a superintendent in the early hours yesterday (thurs).

But today the men were released without charge on police bail pending further inquiries, after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service.

Mr Curtis’ brother John said the family was too upset to talk about the tragedy.

Friend Roly Hughes, who went to Cirencester Deer Park School with Mr Curtis, called his friend a “fun-loving man”.

Mr Hughes, a Cirencester town councillor, said: “He always had a smile on his face and was a popular guy.

“I was only talking to him a few weeks ago in the Black Horse at Cirencester and I’m shocked by this news.

“He had three sons and adored his family, doting on his new granddaughter.”

Mr Curtis is believed to have worked at M&J Seafood, at Love Lane, Cirencester, but had just left his job.
