As part of the ongoing programme of summer events both of the City museums have extra special treats in store.
Taking place on Saturday August 17 between 6.00pm – 9.00pm The Folk Museum will be transported back to Tudor times with the opportunity to meet Henry VIII, play Tudor games, dance to Tudor music and enjoy Tudor food.
Later this month – August 31 from 6.00pm – 9.00pm - the City Museum will be given over to the mysterious world of magic. Visitors will be given the opportunity to see street magic up close, find out more about sorcery and enchantment – and learn a few tricks of their own.
Tickets for both events are priced at adults £8, concessions £5, family tickets £22 (admits two adults and up to three children). They can be booked online at www.gloucestermuseums.co.uk or by telephoning the Guildhall Box Office on 01452 503050.
Council Leader, Paul James, commented: " Our museums are fun and versatile places to visit. It's not about just walking around and looking at objects. Our staff now provide some great events for the whole family.
" It really brings history and subjects to life and it has great entertainment value too."
