Saturday.
Sandra Lloyd, from Benhall, saw the lights at 10.45pm while
driving along College Road after a meal out with family.
The 59-year-old said: "There were 12 bright lights that were
moving and not making a sound. I thought they were or
helicopters but they were too close and there was no sound.
They certainly didn't look like lanterns.
"My daughter tried to take a picture with her mobile but it
wouldn't come out."
Tom O'Loughlin, 14, from St Peter's Square, was cycling with
some friends past St James' Street car park when they spotted
them.
He said: "There was a formation of lights travelling across
the sky.
"They were disappearing and then appearing again.
"I was quite scared. It's not something you see every
day.
"We watched them for 15 minutes. There were loads of people
in town watching them."

“I have seen the very same thing when I was stood in the back bed room of my house when i saw the lights at around 9:30pm on saturday night i just thought i was seeing things but i called my 12 year old daughter Chloe and my husband Julian to the window and we all watched the single light dance around the sky. It lasted for about 5 minutes and then it turned around and shot off up into the atmosphere. We were all amazed so we stayed where we were for a little while then my daughter Chloe saw a parachet shaped object fall out of the sky and down on to the road but in the morning there was nothing there at all and as it fell it blocked the street light out we all saw it a were not quite sure what it was. There was no sound when we saw it and there were no cars or any types of transport around to block the sound out. Does any one have any answer of what it could be and is there any pattern to when they are in the sky as we would like to see them again.”

“I saw them saturday night, about 15 of them-going in different directions-completley silent and fading rapidly into the distance towards the forest. Really weird. If they were lanterns then they were quick ones!!”

“Oh yes, were they orange, like the colour of flames and flicker slightly? There these little hot air balloons that you put a tea light in and they fly off. Getting very popular at celebrations nowadays, i saw several being let off at the Nailsworth festival a few months ago, thought they looked a bit UFO like.”
