This month saw the NSPCC say thank you to some of Bristol's most influential businesses in the region for their support in the NSPCC's 1600 Club.

Over the past year, nearly 40 local companies have collectively raised over £40,000 for the charity.  The 1600 Club sets a target of £1,600 for each company to raise, as this funds a number of specific activities, including for example, to answer 400 calls to ChildLine, or contribute to funding the training costs of a ChildLine volunteer so that they can answer calls and online contacts from children.

Paul Keith, chairman of the NSPCC Bristol Business Board, enthuses, "It was a great opportunity to say thank you to all those local businesses that have supported the 1600 Club; without their support, enthusiasm and dedication, we wouldn't have generated level of funding."

Simon Heal of Merridian Property says, "The evening was a great success and not only gave us the opportunity to meet some of the key contacts, but provided us with networking opportunities with other likeminded businesses in the region."
