Nailstock - calling all talent
The call has gone out to musicians, artists and volunteers to take part in this year’s Nailstock musical event.
The Nailsworth event, which runs from April 23 to 25, aims to showcase local choirs and community projects and orchestral music as well as folk, country, blues, jazz, cabaret and traditional rock and pop bands.

Organisers are calling for all talented bands and performers in the GL5 and GL6 areas to come forward and apply to be part of the event.Applications can be made online at www.nailstock.com. The closing date for entries is March 31.
At least 100 volunteers are required to offer what time they can over the weekend for duties.
They are guaranteed a free pass for Nailstock events and may also qualify for free meal and drink vouchers.
The festival’s committee has also thanked Stroud’s Riffs Music Shop for agreeing to lend a drum kit for the weekend, which will allow a quicker turnaround of acts on stage.
Deb Jones, production manager for Nailstock, said: “It is great that local companies are willing to support us in whichever way they can.
“If there are any other businesses who would like to offer any services or equipment to make this a better event then please contact the Nailstock committee.”
Having taken a year out in 2009, the Nailstock committee has looked at ways of improving all aspects of the festival – including health and safety, alcohol and drugs control and traffic and noise management. They say this will ensure a safer and more structured festival, which is appealing to all age groups. Tickets for the event will be on sale at the end the month.
