Naked window display catches eyes in Newent

 Shoppers got more than they bargained for in Newent as they caught a glimpse of naked men in a new store’s window.

Three rugby players from Westbury-on-Severn visited Memento Gifts in Newent in the buff to advertise their charity calendar.

Shop owner Lynn Ashton said: “The guys from Westbury-on-Severn Rugby Club have done a naked calendar with half of the profits going to Heart of the Forest special school.

“It’s the first time we have had anything naked in Newent, they caused a bit of a stir.”

Mr April Richard Beard, Mr August Steve Price and Mr October Lee Prince turned up to promote the calendar at Memento’s new store in Broad Street.

Mrs Ashton added: “Lots of people came in to have their calendar signed and we hope to sell loads more as it is a really good cause.”

The calendars are £5 each and can be bought from Memento Gifts, local shops in Westbury, the Heart of the Forest Community Special School or by contacting gladref@yahoo.co.uk.
