'IMAGINE all the people living oral cancer free' – not the exact lyrics of the John Lennon classic, but the music legend has still helped raise awareness of the disease.

They offered free oral cancer checks as part of the nationwide Give Teeth a Chance campaign to root out the cancer.

Clinic receptionist Margaret Brown said: "It has been very exciting to have a part of John Lennon in the clinic, but also quite strange."

Lennon's DNA was put into the necklace after a dentist bought one of his molars in an auction. The necklace is on loan to the campaign.
