New Snow+Rock shop for Gloucester Quays
SHOPPERS have welcomed news that a new outdoor store is to open in Gloucester, but called for more variety of retailers.
Snow+Rock, which sells winter sports and outdoor clothing, will open at the Quays on Monday, October 22.
Ranges will include brands such as Arc'teryx, Berghaus, The North Face, Salomon, Burton, Columbia, Eider and Quiksilver.
Kevin Young, group marketing director at Snow+Rock, said: "Gloucester Quays has become a fantastic shopping destination offering top brands at great prices.
"We are in good company with the retailers already established there, the ethos of high-quality retailing is a perfect fit for our new outlet store."
Adrian Wright, leasing director at Gloucester Quays, said: "Snow+Rock is undoubtedly another first class brand to join us here."
The shop will join other outdoor shops Helly Hanson, Mountain Warehouse, Musto, Regatta and Trespass at the Quays, making it something of a one-stop specialist centre. But some shoppers in the city believe there is a lack of variety at the outlet.
Chris Jones, 18, from Hardwicke, said: "There are plenty of outdoor shops already. I'd like to see a Vans shop. I go to Bristol to get my clothes and shoes."
Conor Hedges, 16, from Hardwicke, said: "I would like to see a new clothes shop open at the Quays."
Ghost clothing store opened this summer, along with sports brand Puma, and they join brands such as Gap, Next, LK Bennett and The White Company.
Abi Bragg, 28, from Gloucester, said she would like more women's shops and said: "I would like to see a boutique shop there."
Andy Connoly, 36, who works in Gloucester, said more specialised shops should open in the city centre.
Will Spencer, 25, from Abbeydale, said he would like more "entertainment", such as a shop selling DVDs.
