KEEN cyclists who left secure jobs to start their shop want to get new customers on two wheels.

Slipstream Cycles, in Eastgate Street, stocks a wide range of bikes and kit.

"We think people are more likely to be cycling to work and we want to help them find the right bike and be comfortable in the right clothing," said co-owner Graeme Lewis.

The former car valet manager runs the shop with Lance Fox, who was a building supplies manager.

"We stock every size of clothing too, which is important," he added. Reflex BMX bikes are also on sale in a zone dedicated to its youth culture customer base. It opened on Saturday, evoking memories of long-gone emporium TG Hall Cycles, which was a fixture in the street for decades.
