New hanging baskets at the Cross
SHOPPERS in Gloucester may well have noticed some colourful new additions to The Cross.
New hanging baskets were put up outside HSBC yesterday, adding a splash of colour to the focal point of the city centre.
The baskets were bought by the bank and they are similar to the ones outside St Michael's Tower, which were bought by Gloucester Civic Trust.
Gloucester city councillor Paul Toleman (C. Westgate) oversaw the arrival of the new hanging baskets.

He said: "The Civic Trust bought the ones outside St Michael's Tower off their own back, which is great, and now HSBC have done the same.
"I think it looks fantastic. It brightens the area up and adds some colour, which is what we want.
"There are a few hanging baskets in the city centre now, which is fabulous, and I would love to see some more.
"I will definitely be encouraging other businesses to follow suit."
