New man Park sets impressive age-group record
NEW recruit Rhys Park set a new Cheltenham Harriers Under-20s club 10,000m record with an excellent performance at the British Milers Club race held at the Trafford Open Meeting in Manchester.
The eighteen year old ran a time of 31:34 on his first outing over the distance on the track, placing himself fourth in this year's UK rankings for the age group.
Dan Owen travelled to Merseyside for the Southport Open and also set a Cheltenham Harriers Under-20 mile record.
He clocked 4:22.0 as he took the victory over the rarely run distance.

Ellie Wanklyn was the fastest Under-13 girl as she set a 200m personal best of 28.33 seconds at the Yate Sprints and Hurdles Open Meeting.
In the same age group Lucy Martin won the 70m hurdles in 12.23, with Georgia Wray taking third in a PB of 12.56.
Wray was also second fastest in the 100m in 14.74 and set a 200m PB of 30.14.
In the Under-15 age group Stephanie Beardsmore was the fastest 200m runner with a 27.60 clocking and the second quickest over 100m with a time of 13.13.
Nathaniel Hatherley took second in the Under-15 boys 80m hurdles in 13.46 while Anna Martin was runner-up in the Under-17 girls 80m hurdles in 13.00.
Fellow Under-17 athlete Louise Ward clocked 27.32 in the 200m.
There were two seasons bests for Vet 60 sprinter John Steel with 13.95 in the 100m and 28.32 over 200m, while Vet 55 runner Kevin Downes ran a season's best of 28.48.
