Work to create extra parking spaces at Cam and Dursley Railway Station will take place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March.

The improvements, which will be carried out by contractors on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council, will include vegetation clearance, the removal of overgrown flowerbeds and the construction of a small number of additional spaces to help relieve congestion in the car park.

For the safety of residents and contract staff, some areas of the car park will be made temporarily unavailable while the work is carried out. Although we will work hard to minimise the disruption to drivers, we would ask people to use local buses or alternative means of transport where they can. Signs have been put up at the site to ensure motorists are made aware of the work.

Nearby roads are narrow, so we would encourage people to avoid parking there and increasing the risk of traffic accidents.

Cllr Chas Fellows, cabinet member for environment and economy, said: "This work has been identified to free up a number of spaces to minimise congestion in the car park, following concerns raised by local people.

"I'm pleased that for a small cost we are able to improve parking in the car park for local rail users and I would like to thank the local member Cllr Brian Tipper for his involvement in this project."
