New plans for Shrubberies School
BETTER access to education and training for young people with disabilities are set to be revealed.
Gloucestershire County Council is proposing to invest up to £2million into providing a new facility in Stonehouse for young people with the most complex needs.
It would be part of Shrubberies School and open in January 2014 on land next to Maidenhill School. The new facility would offer a modern teaching and learning environment for up to 24 students and include sensory spaces, dedicated outdoor areas, covered external classroom areas directly off the classrooms and communal facilities.
These plans will free up space at the current Shrubberies site to provide a new specialist unit for young people aged two to 16 with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).
